What was your intended objective when you started the build?
I have never really been a chopper guy, always had sport bikes. I thought that everyone should have at least one chopper in their stable once. This was the best way to get mine, customized to me.
What motivated you to start your project?
A friend of mine had boxes of frames, motor parts and junk. I told him I could make a great bike from that junk, kind of a dare, glad I took the challenge.
What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?
I think it would be the details like the spider web gussets and the combinations of different metals and finishes. Kind of a feast for the eyes the more you look.
What are you most proud of?
The fact that I did all of the work. I built the motor and transmission from junk, did all of the paint and fabrication. The springer front end was hand made.
Making something beautiful from a pile of junk that would have just been tossed away is very rewarding.
What do other people say about your motorcycle?
Most will ask where I bought it, they just stare at it when I say that I built it from junk.
