1971 Honda CL 350 Scrambler

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Make it absolutely new again. Major Tom bought this Honda new in Okinawa while serving with USMC.

What motivated you to start your project?

To thank a fellow USMC member for his service and friendship.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Total naked frame strip and powder coat. Replaced and re-laced wheels. Engine rebuild. All new cables and levers. New scrambler knobbies. Lots of new chrome and polishing. Having a USMC base sticker reproduced for front fender after re-chromming.

What are you most proud of?

The look on Major Toms face when he saw it for the first time and the SMILE after his first ride. He is 74 years old now.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

“I had one of those”
“Looks better than new”
