1975 Honda CB750

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I wanted to build a bike that was more rider friendly that what I’ve done in the past. I’ve built crazy diggers up until this one. This handles better than any of the others, holds more gas, is more comfortable etc.

What motivated you to start your project?

I found the nos frame at a friends. He had it and wasn’t going to build it. I hadn’t built anything in a few years so I picked it up.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

I think the rear brake setup. It took some planning to come up with something that could be adjusted forward and back and also travel up and down with the plunger rear end.

What are you most proud of?

I would say getting it done in time to show at Born Free as an invited builder. The stress with time, UPS loosing parts for a month was way harder than I thought it would be. Especially since I thought this bike would be easy to build after the other weird stuff I’ve built. This was by far the hardest.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

They seen to really like it. The young guys usually don’t get the “Xanadu” name but the people that have seen the movie think it’s funny.

guys I got to say….the first 3 bikes are a mess for center line for balance ,the motor has to sit level including belly of frame for drivetrain because when they to far jacked up takes two hands to idle thu camp and not able to give the famous parade wave to all without looking like to scared to let one hand go off gripes for to hard to handle being off center with frame not low and center….had to be said
