1975 Suzuki T500M

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I have always liked the classic cafe racer style motorcycle. I wanted to make one in the true sense- a stripped down, lightweight motorcycle with only the bare necessities. It only has rear lights and a headlight. No horn, front signals, tach or speedo. In all honesty, I don’t miss these things a bit. I don’t race the bike and I use my ears for shifting purposes. It makes for a really raw riding experience.

What motivated you to start your project?

I have always wanted a two stroke motorcycle project. In particular, I wanted a Kawasaki H1 because I actually learned to ride on that bike in high school. H1’s are too expensive these days, and I happened to stumble across this Suzuki Titan, which fit the bill.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Modified an XS750 fuel tank to fit the Suzuki Titan frame.

What are you most proud of?

The overall look and stance of the bike.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

Wow!
