1981 Harley Davidson Shovelhead

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

to make the bike I drew a picture of when I was 16 years old.

What motivated you to start your project?

bought the 81 FLH because underneath all that was any style I wanted to build except a sportster.  Grunt was fabricated in 1986 into the rigid frame bobber, has been refined over the last 33 years.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

4 speed  chain Paughco rigid frame, now 3 inch primary belt and rear belt drive, did not modify the frame for either of them.

What are you most proud of?

my bike

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

usually…”nice barhopper”  to which I reply “no, my road bike, I do 500-600 miles a day on it, and if they catch an attitude I inform them I have more miles backing into parking spaces than they do going frontwards.   Usually hear that from bagger riders.
