1981 Yamaha XJ750 Seca

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Just to have fun.

What motivated you to start your project?

Having access to tools.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Grafting a Hossack style front end onto an old UJM motorcycle – a lot of people have never even seen or heard of the design.  Its not a girder fork – in fact, the stock head tube no longer carries any weight.

What are you most proud of?

I leaned to do machining on a Bridgeport after starting this bike, and ended up with some pretty nice parts, like the upper control arm bridge.

Plus the fact that it actually works really well in traffic, and can handle some serious abuse.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

WITNESS!

If they are gonna talk to me, they usually want to know how the front end works, what the engine is.
