I wanted a stock looking bike restored to factory like condition. In the end, the bike turned into an over restored CBX. A lot more chrome and glossy finishes than the original factory bike had. I also put the 1981 paint scheme on the bike instead of the 1982 version. Why? Because I didn’t like the ’82 white/blue combination. I preferred the ’81 gray/black scheme. I know the purest probably don’t like what I did. But then I didn’t do it for them…I did it for me and I love it.
In my opinion CBX’s were the most unique bikes of their era. Highly advanced from an engineering perspective and smooth, powerful performers. I always wanted to do a CBX. My shop was open and I found one in good shape at a decent price. Boom…a project was born!
Nothing is really unique in that it was basically a factory restoration.
There was a good amount of attention paid to the details so the overall result is quite impressive.
They find it to be a very clean and a striking restoration. Many harken back to the day and say…I always wanted one of those.
