1983 Honda CB1100F Super Sport

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Build another resto-mod with similar suspension upgrades, but take it to the next level with more details and a somewhat different look.

What motivated you to start your project?

A few years ago I built my first resto-mod, a blue CB1100F with similar suspension and engine upgrades.  Since Honda made the 1100F for only one year and in only two colors, red and blue, I thought it would only make sense to build a red one as well.  When the right deal came along for a basket case, it was time to get going.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

I took a relatively modest handling bike and transformed it into one that handles more like the bikes being built today.

What are you most proud of?

The overall look of the bike and how everything flows together.  I love the way the paint came out and think it’s the most beautiful bike I’ve ever built or restored.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

Many people think it’s brand new.  Others who know more about motorcycles have said that it looks like a bike that Honda should have built.  I’ve often heard others say that the suspension mods look like they were meant to be on that bike from day one.
