1983 Honda Shadow VT500C

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Build a clean rideable bobber.

What motivated you to start your project?

I’ve had a few bikes prior and really wanted to bob my first bike (Kawasaki kz305). But I was absolutely terrified I’d break it. So I found this bike for sale on Lake Erie after a friend had spent a few months convincing me to get another bike.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Lowered it to almost the maximum allowed

What are you most proud of?

I’m beyond proud of learning to weld, read schematics, diagnose issues, and learning to ride properly on this bike and earning my endorsement on it.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

The local bar is bagger central. And this bike is tiny next to those things. They all walk past it, do a double take, check it out and compliment me on it asking if I did it myself.
