1985 Honda Rebel CMX250

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I wanted to see if I could get this old motorcycle into shape where I could ride it around and fell the freedom of the open road.

What motivated you to start your project?

I wanted to begin what I’ve found to be an extremely rewarding hobby by learning how to build, repair, and ride my first actual motorcycle. I felt like if someone is going to put so must trust into a machine then they had better know how that things runs. But, I wanted something fun and something that was styled to my liking.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Giving it its bobber style..Trimming the rear fender, removing the stock seat, re-wiring the lights for some retro hardware.

What are you most proud of?

I’m just proud that I did what the people around me said couldn’t be done. I turned an ugly old rotted bike into a reliable bobber that has carried me a few thousand miles now without anything other than minor adjustments.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

They told me it was “my little piece of shit”. They didn’t like that even though it was a small 250cc it was louder, kept up with, and got more attention then some other bikes.
