1985 Yamaha FZ750

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Objective was to have a classic mid eighties super sport with modern suspension and wheels

What motivated you to start your project?

Bought a FZ750 brand new when I was 19. Found this “barn find” about five years ago and could not let it slip thru my fingers.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Being able to keep the original look and incorporate the modern upgrades. Looks like it came from the factory built like this.

What are you most proud of?

Actually, I’m most proud of the way it works. Handles like a dream!

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

Everyone that has seen it loved it.

I just bought an 86 and want basically do the same thing. Was it pretty straight forward putting that wheel and suspension setup on the bike, or should I go with different parts?

Ohhhh myyyy…….. I once had an ’87 FZ700 in yellow white and blue. I miss that bike badly. Have been looking to do something similar. Great job. The updated suspension and wheels look the cats pajamas. Best of luck. Wow.
