2003 Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Softail Standard

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To have a bike I could call my own, not some cookie cutter stock bike.

What motivated you to start your project?

I’ve owned sport bikes before, but I was older now and wanted a decent cruiser.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

I bought some mini apes made for an ultraglide with a bend in them to go behind the fairing. It’s the most recognizable change, and I get asked about them all the time lol. They look great , and have just enough behind and height to make riding long distances more comfortable.

What are you most proud of?

The fact that I did this all on my own. I knew hardly nothing about cruiser bikes up until I purchased this one. I was able to thread the cables through the bars without any assistance and hook everything up without a hitch.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

My friends and strangers alike always compliment me on it. I still have a couple chrome covers for the transmission and such I need to get, but with 2 daughters in college It is taking a little while to complete. Piece by piece it’ll get there.
