What was your intended objective when you started the build?
Just to see if an old man could do it and make it look good. And to have a trike for Marianne to ride!
What motivated you to start your project?
Marianne’s had a CanAm trike and sold it then started to miss it and riding her own. So I purchased the Sportster and converted it to a trike for her to ride solo again. Darn, I miss the backseat rider now, but she is happy.
What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?
I raised the tank and relocated the coil and made the skull horn cover fit over the coil. Also cut the fender blanks down to the finished size and modified the fender brackets to mount them. Painting the thing is the only out sourced job I had to do.
What are you most proud of?
The whole project and how it turned out. Not bad for a 72 year old man with limited resources to work with.
What do other people say about your motorcycle?
Everyone has a hard time believing I made it in the shed and garage. It has been given many thumbs up!
